Istanbul Baseksehir midfielder, Azubuike Okechukwu has expressed optimism on the possibility of returning from injury after the international break.
The 23-year-old turned his loan from Egyptian side, Pyramids FC into a permanent 4-year deal for the Turkish champions after manager Okan Buruk insisted on keeping him at the club.
Unfortunately, the Nigerian is yet to play any match this season due to injury. Speaking to SportingLife from his base in Turkey, the U-23 Captain said: “After the international break, I’ll be back with the team.
“The past few weeks have been difficult but I’ve been working hard on my recovery. I hope to come back better than I left and the team doctors have been very helpful – I am grateful.”
Istanbul Baseksehir are yet to win any game in the Turkish Super Lig this season, having drawn one and lost three of their last four matches so far before the international break.
