On-air personality Kayode Oladotun, also known as Do2dtun, has been ordered by a Chief District Court in the Federal Capital Territory’s Wuse Zone 2, Abuja, to refrain from making disparaging remarks against musician Oladapo Oyebanjo, also known as D’banj, on social media or any other platform.
Additionally, the court directed the Force Intelligence Bureau’s Deputy Inspector of Police to look into a criminal complaint filed by D’banj against Do2dtun and provide a report to the court in a fortnight.
On Wednesday, October 18, 2023, Justice Emmanuel Iyanna granted the injunction in the matter involving Motion No.: MN/218/2023; our reporter was able to secure a certified accurate copy of the ruling.
D’banj applied for an injunction to stop Do2dtun from publishing alleged malicious and defamatory posts against him on social media through one of his attorneys, Toheeb Lawal of the Abuja-based legal firm Law Corridor.
Iyanna granted “an order restraining the defendant (Do2dtun) either by himself, servants, privies, cohorts, representatives or any person deriving authority from him from further making any malicious, intimidating or defamatory post directing at the complainant (D’banj) on any social media platform (X, Instagram, etc.) or news media pending the hearing and determination of the substantive case” in response to the application, which names D’banj as the complainant and Do2dtun as the respondent.
Do2dtun has been criticizing D’banj on X (formerly Twitter) and Instagram for a number of weeks. The OAP wed Taiwo, D’banj’s sister, in 2013, and the couple had two daughters.
But in November 2021, Taiwo filed for divorce from Do2dtun, citing “unending reckless emotional abuse, forced abortion, and vicious domestic violence,” in Court 23, High Court of the Federal Capital Territory, Suit Number: GWD/PET/25/2021. Taiwo claimed that Do2dtun’s actions had a negative impact on her general health and well-being.
Do2dtun recently claimed that he was denied access to his daughter, but Taiwo refuted her ex-husband’s claim.
