On Saturday, the Federal Government announced that on Wednesday, November 1, extensive repairs including the Third Mainland Bridge’s paving and lighting will start.
This was revealed by Engineer Dave Umahi, the Minister of Works, following an examination of the undersides of a few bridges on Lagos Island.
Explqining, he stated that the upper deck of the Third Mainland Bridge’s planned three-month maintenance project is the first stage of extensive repair work intended to preserve both its structural integrity and its visual appeal.
The minister promised that drivers wouldn’t experience any inconvenience throughout the restoration time. He stated that the repairs would only be done on weekends, from midnight to four in the morning.
In addition, Umahi mentioned that because the work was urgent, multiple contractors will be hired.
