Super Eagles and Denizlispor midfield enforcer, Onazi Ogenyi has calmed frayed nerves of his teeming fans over his recent injury which will sideline him for one week.
A small rupture was detected around the back muscle of his leg after the club’s 1-0 loss to Sivasspor. Onazi will miss week 28th of the Super League Cemil Master Season, tie against Besiktas slated for Denizli Atatürk Stadium this Saturday.
But in an exclusive chat with FCNaija on Wednesday afternoon, the former Trabzonspor star said he is in good condition and would return to action in no time.
” It’s just a strain, I will be back to training next week. God is in control,” he told FCNaija.
Onazi signed a year and half contract with Denizlispor, a Turkey Super Lig club side, after leaving Trabzonspor in January transfer window.
The 2013 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) winning midfielder ruptured his Achilles tendon against Rizespor in a Turkish Super Lig game in December 2018, and was sidelined from action.
He, however, returned to the pitch during Tranzonspor’s Europa League 2-0 loss against Basel on December 12.
