Prince Francis Omo-Osunde Iyasere, a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party in Edo State and a former state publicity secretary, has urged party leaders to support amicable resolution of the ongoing internal conflicts plaguing the organization.
He claimed that the pointless conflict will continue to harm the party’s reputation and decrease its prospects of winning the governorship race the next year.
Iyasere said, “It is time for the internal wrangling within the party to be laid to rest, so we do not lose focus on the bigger picture of winning the governorship election next year,” in an interview with newsmen on Sunday in Benin.
Noting that “No party is free from crisis and internal disagreements,” he urged the party to effectively handle its internal conflicts. The ability and good conscience to swiftly resolve differences in the larger benefit of the party’s stability, virility, and advancement in winning elections should be of the utmost importance.
We have all witnessed how the Rivers State APC has seemingly and successfully handled its internal conflicts, with the former governor Rotimi Amaechi and the rest enabling the possibility of a PDP member being appointed to the state’s ministerial position.
