Temitope Ewuoso, 16, has accused her father, Kayode, of sexually abusing her.
The girl claimed that at Solotan Estate, Laderin, Abeokuta, Ogun State, her father had been pressuring and coercing her into having sex in his room on a regular basis.
The victim claimed that as soon as her mother filed for divorce, the father started making sexual demands.
The father was taken into custody while reporting the event to Ogun State Social Orientation and Safety Corps personnel, who then brought the case to the closest police station.
The suspect stated during questioning that the daughter was lying to him because he chastised her for being promiscuous and wayward.
Omolola Odutola, the public relations officer for the state police, verified the occurrence and informed our correspondent that the inquiry was still ongoing.
“The father is in custody. We have started a preliminary inquiry into the claim. Odutola wrote on WhatsApp on Tuesday, “Both parties will be taken to the State CID for a discreet investigation.”
