Sam Larry is said to have been interrogated by police investigators about his differences with the late musician after being held by the police on Thursday night after accepting the invitation.
According to information obtained by our correspondent, the suspect, who is now being held at the Lagos State Police Command Headquarters and has not yet retained legal counsel on the incident, would most likely stay in police custody until Monday of the following week.
Sam Larry was detained by police on Thursday night at the Murtala Muhammed Airport after arriving from Kenya, according to a security source who requested anonymity.
The Lagos State Police Command Public Relations Officer, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, told our correspondent in an exclusive interview on Friday night that the conclusion of the police inquiry would determine the course of action to be followed against Sam Larry.
The police spokesman added that he was unable to comment on specifics of the contentious socialite’s statement to the police and said that Idowu Owohunwa, the commissioner of police, will shortly brief the media on the situation.
