Police In Delta Free Abducted Individuals And Detain Gun Traffickers.

Police in Delta free abducted individuals and detain gun traffickers.

Four abducted victims were found alive in the forests of the Orerokpe community in the Okpe Local Government Area by members of the Delta State Police Command.

In response to the kidnapping information, the DPO of the Orerokpe Division, CSP Paul Oboware, quickly organized a team of police officers and, with the help of Nigerian Army soldiers and vigilantes from the Oreorokpe community, followed the kidnappers into nearby bushes.

As they relentlessly searched the bushes for the kidnappers, who fled as soon as they spotted the rescue squad and quickly abandoned the victims, they applied pressure.

As a result, on Tuesday, September 12, all the abducted victims were freed and transferred to a hospital, where they were treated and released.

DSP Bright Edafe, the Delta State Command’s Police Public Relations Officer, confirmed the occurrence and said that all of the rescued kidnapped victims had since been reunited with their family.

The PPRO reported that efforts were being made to apprehend the evading suspects.

Aragba vigilantes and a crack squad from the DPO Orerokpe Division collaborated to conduct a thorough stop and search at the Aragba Junction along Sapele Aghalokpe Road Okpe LGA. During the operation, one Sunday Yerakpo was apprehended and found to be in possession of four brand-new locally made cut-to-size guns.

The suspect was detained right away, and preliminary inquiries indicated that he trades in the running of guns, and that one of his associates, Ose Ogboyen, had directed him to deliver the weapons to a customer known as “Saputu.”

Following this, on September 9, 2023 at around 16.30 hours, members of the Nigerian hunters in the community and the forest security service, working under the direction of the district officer, stormed a building at No. 8 Palace Road, Ogulagha, where one Prince Diegbegha (25), a native of the Ogulagha community, was apprehended.

One Makarov pistol with an empty magazine was reportedly found during a search of his home.

Residents of the state have been told by CP Wale Abass, the state’s commissioner of police, that the Command will do everything necessary to safeguard the lives and property of the inhabitants.
