The Nigeria Correctional Service’s primary responsibilities are to safeguard those who have been lawfully detained and to make sure that they are successfully rehabilitated and reintegrated into society. However, a number of issues plague the Correctional Service, formerly known as the Nigerian Prison Service, making it more difficult for it to rehabilitate prisoners.
