The presidential nominees for the Niger Delta Development Commission’s board and management have been reviewed and confirmed by the House of Representatives.
On Thursday, the designees came before the House ad hoc committee charged with conducting the screening.
In accordance with section 2(2) of the Niger Delta Development Commission (Establishment etc.) Act, President Bola Tinubu had written to the House of Representatives to approve the chairman and governing board of the Niger Delta Development Commission.
Along with 16 other candidates, the President supported Mr. Chiedu Ebie for the post of NDDC board chairman.
Erhiatake Ibori-Suenu, the chairman of the House Committee on NDDC, urged the nominees to back up the trust that President Bola Tinubu had placed in them in a statement on Thursday.
The NDDC requires visionary leaders with integrity more than ever to help carry out the commission’s purpose and make a real difference in the lives of the people and communities in the Niger Delta.
Mr. Chiedu Ebie and Dr. Samuel Ogbuku, the NDDC Chairman and Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer designations, respectively, gave presentations as part of the screening process. They discussed their different career paths and the commission’s objective.

- Mr. Boma lyaye, the Executive Director, Finance and Admin, Rivers
- Mr.Victor Antai Executive Director Projects, Akwa-Ibom
- Otito Atikase Executive Director, Corporate Services, Ondo
- Dimaro Denyanbofa, State Representative Bayelsa
- Mr. Abasi Nkono, State Representative Akwa-Ibom
- Monday Igbuya, State Representative Delta,
- Tony Okocha, State Representative Rivers
- Patrick Aisowieren, State Representative Edo
- Mr.Kyrian Uchegbu, State Representative Imo
- Victor Akinjo, State Representative Ondo
