The Ogun State Police Command has detained two more individuals suspected of being members of a cult, namely Taofik Awolaro, 36, and Ojetayo Oluwaseyi, 29, who are said to have participated in the recent four-day cult conflict in the Sagamu area of the state.

According to a state police spokeswoman, Oluwaseyi and Awolaro were detained on Wednesday after police received information about their whereabouts in the state’s Ilishan Remo region.

Odutola stated that efforts were still being made to apprehend additional group members who had fled the scene during the operation.

The conflict that allegedly broke out between the Aye and Eye Confraternities a few weeks ago caused chaos in the neighborhood and resulted in the deaths of eight persons.

Damilare Bello, a member of the Ogun State House of Assembly, and six other suspects were later detained in separate operations by the state police and the Department of State Security Services together with 19 others who were thought to be members of various cult organizations.
