This information was provided at a news briefing on Tuesday at the Command Headquarters in Port Harcourt by the state commissioner of police, Emeka Nwonyi.

Nwonyi expressed displeasure that after Angbashim’s murder, the criminals were still prepared to cause further harm to the command. He claimed that they started shooting as soon as they cited operators, but that they were met with superior gunfire, which resulted in the deaths of four of them.

He did, however, say that the operation would continue until the gang boss and other eluding gang members were apprehended and put to face the law, despite the pain caused by Angbashim’s horrific death.
