Despite recently revealing that there were no big plans afoot for a summer squad overhaul this year, Tottenham Hotspur head coach Jose Mourinho now says signings are needed, as quoted by Sky Sports.
Spurs have been without star striker Harry Kane through injury for a
while, and they’re also bereft of the services of Son Heung-min who is
currently undergoing treatment on a broken arm in South Korea. When he
returns, he will be quarantined as a precaution against a potential
spread of the infamous Corona virus. They added winger Steven Bergwijn
to their ranks in January, but they still don’t have a recognized
striker to call upon. There have been calls for Troy Parrott to be given
a proper chance, but Mourinho is adamant the 18-year-old still needs
time to develop before he can lead the attacking line for his team.
The Portuguese pointed out that more depth and balance is needed in
the squad for next season, though he still doesn’t expect many new
players.
