If you had passed through Ugbowo – Lagos Express way, Benin City this
morning, you would wonder if that is the venue of the annual EdoFest as
members of Senior Staff Association of Nigeria University (SSANU) came
out en mass to protest the release of their allowance, reinstatement of
staff school teachers into the university payroll in line with court
judgement and government productiveness in bringing the new minimum wage
to workers among others.
The protest has resulted in a heavy traffic
jam along the Ugbowo – Lagos Express way. The protest is still ongoing
as of the time of writing this report.
