Stella Mwangi, also known as STL, is a Kenyan-Norwegian singer, songwriter, and rapper. She was born on September 1, 1986, in Nairobi, Kenya. Mwangi moved to Norway at the age of five and grew up in the town of Lillestrøm.
Mwangi gained international recognition when she represented Norway in the Eurovision Song Contest in 2011. Her song “Haba Haba” was selected through the national selection process and finished in 17th place in the competition.
Before Eurovision, Mwangi had already established herself as a prominent artist in Norway. Her music blends elements of hip hop, pop, and African beats, often incorporating English, Swahili, and Norwegian lyrics. She has released several albums, including “Living for Music” (2008), “Kinanda” (2011), and “Stella Stella Stella” (2018).
