There is an outbreak of cholera (Aarun n gbá méj) in the Ijebu North Local Government area of Ogun State, according to a statement signed by Dr. Tomi Coker, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Health.
“Cholera is known to occur during rainy seasons and may also be linked to an unclean environment and poor personal hygiene,” she said.
It frequently includes stooling, either with or without vomiting, which causes dehydration. If the extreme dehydration is not properly treated, cholera can cause death.
Coker encouraged the populace to alert the nearest government health facility of any occurrences of stooling with or without vomiting as well as the LGA DSNO: 08069788449.
They should also maintain good personal and environmental hygiene, it was said.
