The Ogun State Police Command announced on Saturday that it had found three unidentified bodies of young men in an abandoned structure at Abibatun Toronbi Community, Ijoko-Ota in the state’s Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government Area. The dead are thought to have been killed by a rival cult group.
This comes just a month after a carnage in Sagamu during which at least eight people died as a result of competing cult executions.
These young men were allegedly murdered with a machete, and their left hands were also severed, by the attackers.
Memory and Rilwan are two of the deceased who were purportedly members of the Eiye Confraternity.
A community leader from Abibatun Toronbi in Ijoko reportedly told the police of the discovery of the mbodies in an unfinished building that also served as the area’s criminal hideouts, according to a statement from the state command’s spokesperson, SP Omolola Odutola.
The neighborhood is urged to keep supplying the police with useful information in order to support ongoing inquiries and the capture of further local criminals.
