Two Nigerians are detained in India for trafficking drugs.

On Thursday, the Special Cell of the Delhi Police nabbed a three-person international narcotics gang that supplied illegal substances throughout India and included two Nigerians and a Sierra Leonean.

According to a local media outlet, The Statesman, the suspects, Peace Ilobe and Stephen, both from Nigeria, and Paul Joy from Sierra Leone, were found to be in possession of 6kg of the hypnotic narcotic methaqualone and 2kg of heroin.

Two of the suspects, Paul Joy and Peace Ilobe, were reportedly captured when a Special Cell team conducted a raid near Shiv Murti in Rangpuri after receiving a tip.

Further questioning revealed that the two ladies had purchased the methaqualone shipment from Stephen, who had been apprehended and put into custody in Delhi’s Uttam Nagar neighborhood’s Mohan Garden.

The three suspects, who have been actively involved in drug trafficking for two years, were found to be residing in India without the required legal papers, according to investigations.

The suspects have been detained on a number of offenses, including forgery, preparation, impersonation, deceit, and possession of false documents.
