Vincenzo La Porta, a wanted Italian, was apprehended in Greece thanks to a football picture.

The Naples-based Camorra organized criminal syndicate is believed to have intimate ties to 60-year-old Vincenzo La Porta.Although he has been missing for 11 years, he was just discovered in a celebration photo taken in Greece with his fans.

According to the Carabinieri police in Naples, “What betrayed him was his passion for football and for the Napoli.”

The images, according to the police, were shot this year after Napoli won the Italian title for the first time in more than three decades.

According to the police, La Porta couldn’t help but celebrate after winning the tournament.

La Porta had already been found guilty of fraud, tax evasion, and criminal association in Italy while out of country.

On the Greek island of Corfu, police eventually caught him on Friday when he was riding his moped. He is now being held in a jail while waiting to be extradited to Italy.

He will have to serve a 14 years and 4 months in jail sentence if extradited to Italy.

“He has started a new family in Greece,” La Porta’s attorney told the AP news agency. He works as a cook to make ends meet and has a nine-year-old child. He has problems with his heart. Both he and his family will suffer if he is extradited.

Authorities pursued La Porta tenaciously, closely monitoring his financial and computer activities, and “waiting for him to make a slip-up.”

La Porta’s delight after Napoli won its first Serie A championship in 33 years back in May was contagious.

He was captured by the police in a photograph with Napoli supporters wearing baseball caps and waving the team’s sky blue and white colors outside a restaurant in Corfu.

The detectives followed him to Greece because they were sure they had found their man.

They managed to capture him on Friday, according to the Greek police, with a little assistance from their Greek colleagues.

An Italian mafia boss who had been hiding out for decades was apprehended in January of this year as a result of a Google Maps sighting.
