A centre-back is David Moyes’ top priority with Cardiff City’s Sean Morrison, Watford’s Craig Dawson and Bournemouth’s Steve Cook all being looked at.
QPR’s Ryan Manning and Swansea’s Matt Grimes are also potential targets.
